Ari's Light Foundation

About Arianna

Spread Ari's Light was founded in memory of Arianna Dougan, who was diagnosed with cancer at age 3 and lost her battle 8 years later. Ari loved to dance and her parents found that the dance therapy she received while in treatment had a tremendous impact on her well-being and brought joy into her all-too-short life. This inspired SAL to bring dance and movement therapy programs to other young cancer patients and critically ill children.

Mission Statement

- To support families with children with cancer. -

Arianna was touched by so many people and loved to do so much we wanted to make sure her foundation could do many things to help others. So we created a very broad mission statement to ensure our ability to use the money we collect we're there is a need.

Sometimes it is the 'simple' things that do the most good. We kept our mission statement simple to help us do the most good for familes within the St. Louis community. From our fundraising efforts to working directly with those families that have loved ones starting or well within their fight with cancer, we want to help ensure that as many families are touched by the Spread Ari's Light foundation. One of our biggest goals is to help spread the love of dance that Ari had with other children with cancer and other health issues that are in hospitals. Her love of dance, and the dance therapy program that was started at St. Louis Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital helped to bring joy to Ari, so we want to help bring smiles with the joy of dance to others.
